Dr. Karanjit Randhawa

While growing up, Dr. K was fascinated by all things involving science. He knew early on that he wanted a career in the medical field. His encounters with rescue animals in need of care led him onto the path of veterinary medicine. Dr. K grew up in Los Angeles, California and began his undergrad at UCLA before moving to the Fraser Valley in 2014. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from UFV before pursuing veterinary medicine. He has a keen interest in surgery and physiotherapy. Dr. K is committed to a stress-free approach to veterinary medicine which helps alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in his patients when receiving medical attention. Dr. K is the proud dad of 2 rescue pups named Hazel and Sophie. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching web series and spending time with his family.

Dr. Kelly McCallum

Born and raised in Alberta, Dr. McCallum graduated from WCVM, Saskatoon in 1992. Upon graduation, she moved to B.C. and became a practice owner and eventually a locum veterinarian in the lower mainland. Dr. McCallum and her daughters have been involved in the cat fancy, showing their champion cats in Canada and the USA. One of her cats has been in several movies as well! Her cats enjoy their large cat running wheels and outdoor “catzebo”. She also has senior rescue dogs. Dr. McCallum’s hobbies include succulent gardening and classical piano playing.

Shae grew up on a farm in rural Ontario with her many animals including a pig, three horses, and two dogs. With her strong love of animals, Shae knew she would pursue a career in Veterinary medicine. In 2019, Shae graduated from Seneca College in Ontario as a Veterinary Technician. To start her new career (and to escape the snow and cold!), Shae moved out to BC in April 2019 and found the Sunshine Coast. She now lives in the lovely Matsqui area, with her two cats; Verlander and Tammy. She loves to be outside as much as possible and on her days off, you can find her horseback riding, hiking or coaching CrossFit.

I grew up in Ontario and always admired BC and the beauty it has to offer. I have always had a keen interest in the veterinary profession and am blessed to be able to pursue my passion. I am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at the University of Guelph and truly enjoying the practical experience and mentoring at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic. My hobbies (other than cuddling animals) include biking, hiking, and attempting to capture BC’s beauty in artwork.

For as long as I can remember, working with animals has always been something I’ve been passionate towards. I am currently studying at UFV doing my prerequisites for veterinary school. At present, I am the parent of two very sweet lovebirds, Mango & Rio! Outside of my school and work life I enjoy activities such as reading, cooking, traveling, and various physical activities such as hiking and skiing.

I was born in a small town and grew up around many different kinds of animals and people, and I always had a good relationship with both. When I got older, I wanted to pursue learning about the health and well-being of animals and creating strong relationships with their owners and people who care for them. I have several years of experience with animals. It is my goal to ensure that the owners of the animals we take in knowing exactly what is going on and have the confidence to trust us with their animals, and more importantly, their family.

As a kid, I always had the biggest soft spot for animals. I was always that kind who brought home injured or stray animals to make sure they got the care they needed. I knew from that point that I needed to be in a career that contributes to the well-being of animals. I feel privileged to get this opportunity to start off my career at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic, working along side such a highly motivated team.

Since I was young, I have had a huge heart for animals and nature. I love to help in any way that I can. I have been working at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic ever since I graduated from my Veterinary Assistant program. I am very excited and fortunate to be a part of such a passionate and driven team! You’ll often find me volunteering, on a hike, painting, snuggling my three cats, or sitting with my nose stuck in a book.

Chilliwack has always been my home. My pets have always been family. Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic is a practice that I am proud to work for because, as a local, family-owned practice, they have a strong commitment to community and our pets. Our veterinarians and all of our staff are committed to the health and well-being of animals. Working alongside such motivated and invested coworkers is definitely an added benefit. Aside from work, I am currently studying with the hopes of pursuing a career in Wildlife Biology. If we meet, it won’t take long for you to realize that I am an avid skier and hiker. You can often find me scaling a new mountain or taking advantage of the BC powder on my days off.

Pets are humanizing, constantly reminding us that we must be gentle with life, care for those who cannot speak for themselves, and help better understand ourselves and each other. My journey here at Vedder Mountain Vet Clinic started as a client myself, and my beloved blue heeler, Major, as a patient. The patience, kindness, and understanding we received from the doctors and staff here truly inspired me to further my interest in this field of work. Fast forward to working as an employee here today, I can now proudly say that I am a part of a team and community that care for other’s pets like our own. I’m looking forward to seeing where this journey takes me!

I grew up in a home filled with birds. My mom also runs a bird store in Alberta, which really influenced and inspired my love for all animals. Having this opportunity to work with and care for our clients’ pets has been an extremely rewarding experience and for that, I am very grateful to everyone who has helped me get to where I am today. I love working at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic as it gives me immense joy in caring for animals and helping clients.

Having had pets all of my life, I was excited to become a part of the Vedder Mountain Veterinary team. I am semi-retired and when not at the clinic, I can be found playing golf, hiking or biking.

I have been an admirer of animals ever since I was born. Growing up, my family always had pets including lizards, budgies, dogs and cats. I am passionate about learning about the well-being of both animals and humans as I pursue a degree in biochemistry from UFV.

Born and raised in Chilliwack, I grew up around lots of animals including dogs, cats, and fish. Ever since I was little, I have known that my dream job would involve helping animals. I currently have three rescue chihuahuas and a rescue kitty! Their names are Eddie, Manny, Bean, and Krissy. I am so grateful to be a part of the team here at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic. Caring for our client’s pets is truly rewarding.
