Dr. Karanjit Randhawa

While growing up, Dr. K was fascinated by all things involving science. He knew early on that he wanted a career in the medical field. His encounters with rescue animals in need of care led him onto the path of veterinary medicine. Dr. K grew up in Los Angeles, California and began his undergrad at UCLA before moving to the Fraser Valley in 2014. He completed his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from UFV before pursuing veterinary medicine. He has a keen interest in surgery and physiotherapy. Dr. K is committed to a stress-free approach to veterinary medicine which helps alleviate fear, anxiety, and stress in his patients when receiving medical attention. Dr. K is the proud dad of 2 rescue pups named Hazel and Sophie. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball, watching web series and spending time with his family.

Dr. Kelly McCallum

Born and raised in Alberta, Dr. McCallum graduated from WCVM, Saskatoon in 1992. Upon graduation, she moved to B.C. and became a practice owner and eventually a locum veterinarian in the lower mainland. Dr. McCallum and her daughters have been involved in the cat fancy, showing their champion cats in Canada and the USA. One of her cats has been in several movies as well! Her cats enjoy their large cat running wheels and outdoor “catzebo”. She also has senior rescue dogs. Dr. McCallum’s hobbies include succulent gardening and classical piano playing.

I grew up in Ontario and always admired BC and the beauty it has to offer. I have always had a keen interest in the veterinary profession and am blessed to be able to pursue my passion. I am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program at the University of Guelph and truly enjoying the practical experience and mentoring at Vedder Mountain Veterinary Clinic. My hobbies (other than cuddling animals) include biking, hiking, and attempting to capture BC’s beauty in artwork.

For as long as I can remember, working with animals has always been something I’ve been passionate towards. I am currently studying at UFV doing my prerequisites for veterinary school. At present, I am the parent of two very sweet lovebirds, Mango & Rio! Outside of my school and work life I enjoy activities such as reading, cooking, traveling, and various physical activities such as hiking and skiing.

I was born in a small town and grew up around many different kinds of animals and people, and I always had a good relationship with both. When I got older, I wanted to pursue learning about the health and well-being of animals and creating strong relationships with their owners and people who care for them. I have several years of experience with animals. It is my goal to ensure that the owners of the animals we take in knowing exactly what is going on and have the confidence to trust us with their animals, and more importantly, their family.

It was always a dream of mine to work with animals. In 2016 I made the career change I’ve always wanted, and have been working alongside Dr. Ross since. I love animals of all kinds and have four cats of my own; Olive, Charlie, Poe and Ink. I enjoy spending my free time with friends, and in the outdoors hiking, camping or lakeside.

I love all kinds of animals, but I’m definitely in danger of becoming a “crazy cat lady”! My two cats, Digory and Polly add so much joy and silliness to my life. My hope is to help our clients and patients feel welcome and at ease whenever they visit. I feel privileged to be a part of the animal-care team at Vedder Mountain Vet Clinic, and to meet the delightful folks and their furry friends in our community. When I am not at the clinic, I can be found hiking, biking or drinking a cup of coffee with my friends.

Bio coming soon.
